1907

Good Day,

This is Dmitri Mendeleev's son, Vladimir. My father was an important chemist, but unfortunately he just passed. I decided to post some of his journal entries on this Internet. But i will begin by giving you a brief biography. My father was born on February 8, 1834 in Tobolsk, Siberia. He was the youngest of 18 children. When he was 13, his father died and his mothers factory burned down. Also he attended the Gymnasium (school) in Tobolsk. In 1849, his family moved to St. Petersburg, where he attended the Main Pedagogical Institute in 1850.
In 1861, he wrote his first book about a machine called the spectroscope. In 1862, my father married his first wife, Feozva Nikitichna Leshcheva. He divorced her and married his second wife, Anna Ivanova Popova, in 1882. He is one of the people credited for the creation of the modern periodic table, but i will get into that later. My father died in 1907 in St. Petersburg freom influenza.
